Mengenang (Memory), a wind driven sound installation made with bamboo, feathers, macadamia nuts and felt. The bamboo resonators are tuned to a D minor to create a commemorative sound forest. The original installation of Mengenang (Memory) was created to commemorate the Bali bombings that occurred in 2002 and 2005. The 222 victims were represented by 222 bamboo resonators, tuned to D minor to create a sound forest on the headland.
Mengenang was first exhibited at Sculpture by the Sea, Bondi in 2012 where it was awarded the People’s Choice Award and Mayor’s Prize . The installation then travelled to Western Australia at the invitation of Sculpture by the Sea to be included in Sculpture by the Sea, Cottesloe March 2013. The installation was the recipient of the Mostyn Ephemeral Art Subsidy and was awarded the “People Choice’s Prize”. The work was then invited to exhibit as part of Art and About Sydney, 2013, where it was included in the 13th annual exhibition of “Artisans in the Gardens” from September-October 2013.

"Mengenang" was exhibited for a second time at Cottesloe Beach at the invitation of Sculpture By The Sea.
Invited to exhibit as part of Art and About Sydney, 2013, the third installation was for the 13th annual exhibition of “Artisans in the Gardens”.
